Hydroponic systems
The water culture method of hydroponics is the simplest to set up on a small scale. In this system the plant roots are totally immersed in a nutrient solution. The major disadvantages of this system are the large amount of water required per plant and the need to aerate the solution continuously.
Plant iT Spreader Mat 20cm x 25m

CuttingBoard
CuttingBoard
The best choice for small projects.
A key instrument for the collector.
Like the RainForest, the CuttingBoard is an ideal system to get vigorous and healthy seedlings with a perfect root mass, and the faculty to adapt easily to the different environments in which they will be later transplanted, be it in hydroponics or in soil.
It is a key system for small projects and a must for the collector. It is an important instrument for the professional who seeks the healthiest cuttings, for researchers, and even for schools and universities, to teach plant biology to all classes.
GHE WaterFarm
The WaterFarm from General Hydroponics is a hydroponics system well suited to beginners as well as the more experienced grower.
Technically, it is very similar to Aquafarm, also from General Hydroponics, the Waterfarm is only different by size and price.
Measurements: 30.5 cm sq x 37 cms high. Made from recycled plastic. Tank capacity: 15 litres.
Plants are grown in a pot filled with clay balls. The growth chamber is suspended above the reservoir with the nutrients. An air pump drives the solution which is fed through a distribution pipe, from which it drips onto the clay balls.
This process, mixes the nutrients with the air, continuously bathing the roots, and stimulating the growth in the plants.
GHE AquaFarm
An excellent introduction to hydroponics.
The AquaFarm is the first hydroponic “home unit”, created more than 25 years ago by Lawrence Brooke, in California. Since 1976, thousands of these remarkable units have been sold worldwide, bringing satisfaction to their owners and growing thousands of beautiful, healthy plants.
These pots have several applications: in nurseries or indoor gardens for mother plants and collectibles, in the house for decorative or culinary plants of all sizes, or in the kitchen for aromatic herbs to use fresh while cooking.
They are used in research laboratories and universities and even in schools where studying plants growing hydroponically fills children and adults with wonder.
Often copied but never equalled, this system provides top performance while being also reliable, easy to use and inexpensive.
Will grow 1 to 6 plants per pot, depending on the size of your plants.

What is a Flood and Drain system?
A Flood and Drain system works by pumping a nutrient solution from a reservoir into the buckets / trays that your plants are sat in. This floods the buckets and when the pump switches off (via a timer attached to the pump), the nutrient solution drains away into the reservoir.
Whilst the buckets are full of nutrient solution the roots of the plants are submerged and they will take up all the nutrients they need. When the pump turns off and the nutrients drain away all stale air is taken away with it and fresh oxygen is then available for the plant to take up into its root zone.
The Benefits:
- Plants grow faster and have higher yields.
- The root zone is re-oxygenated several times a day
- The ability to adjust the number of feeds a day
- No build up of nutrient salts.
Alien XL 4 POT RDWC - hydroponic system
Deep Water Culture is a method used to grow plants with roots submerged in a highly oxygenated nutrient solution.
How it works?
The Alien™ Recirculating Deep Water Culture systems are an innovative, heavy duty design for those wanting to grow fewer but larger plants.By using the Alien™ RDWC hydroponic system you can optimise maximum growth potential due to the super oxygenated nutrient solution being constantly recirculated around the system by an inline pump. The inline pump creates a current which draws the solution through the pots both mixing and cooling the nutrients. This current also delivers the vital nutrients to the roots, optimising root health and increasing nutrient uptake efficiency.
Importantly, PH and EC levels are continuously maintained due to the high volume of water contained in the system.
Design
The RDWC hydroponic systems come in two sizes, either 20 litre pots or XL 30 litre pots.
The 20 litre pots are linked together with one row of 32mm pipe and fittings. The XL 30 litre pots are linked together with two rows. This allows for a free flowing system which recirculates the nutrient solution several times an hour. The larger diameter pipe has been fitted to combat the problem of root blockage. Air lines are connected to each pot to aerate the solution. There are no timers to set up, just plug in and grow.
Air kits
The Air Kits for our XL 30 litre system contain the Enviro ET series air pumps, a high quality, super silent pump. Also supplied are 100mm air stones and air lines which have been manufactured for Alien, made from green, flexible PVC, a superior material compared with the cheap silicone comparisons that often kink. The 20 litre Air kits use Hailea V series pump which also run silently.
Ripstop Tank
The Alien™ Ripstop Tanks are a collapsible water tank which enables the whole system to fit through tight spaces. The tank comes flat packed enabling the entire system to fit neatly into a cardboard box which allows for easier transportation. The material is non toxic and 100% lightproof and as the name suggests, it doesn’t rip.
The Alien™ Ripstop Tank is connected to the header pot. The header pot contains an adjustable float valve which maintains the level of the nutrient solution through out the system. The nutrient solution level can be raised or lowered to suit your plants requirements.
Set up
To keep system set up time to a minimum the pots have pre-punched holes. With each system a pair of quality pipe cutters are provided. No other tools are required. We use our own specially designed grommets to ensure secure, water tight connections. The entire system is simply push-fit.

The perfect tool for beginners.A must for the professional.
This is our most powerful hydroponic module. It is designed to maximise the amount of oxygen available to plant roots. Used by the biggest research laboratories in the US, like Argonne National Laboratory and Los Alamos National Laboratory it has demonstrated the most dramatic propagation rates of any hydroponic system yet tested.
The RainForest is an essential propagating tool for the professional, the collector and alldedicated growers.
- L = 67 cm – W = 67 cm – H = 31 cm
- Effective capacity = 60 Litres
- 72 plant-sites.
- The Vortex 12V motor uses very little electricity and can be hooked to solar power. Inquire with your usual supplier.
RainForest 2
Aeroponics Cloning/Growing SystemThe latest generation of aeroponic growing systems.
For propagating cuttings, rooting transplants, no other hydroponic system will match the performance of the RainForest². This system is ideal for starting plants or even growing plants to maturity and on to harvest. Many growers choose to start their plants in RainForest modules and later transplant them into larger systems or in soil.
The RainForest²® is the latest concept imagined and created by GH in California. This new generation of growing modules offers all the advantages of a complete growing system and combines, in one unit, all the properties of the small systems existing today.
The RainForest²® is the most flexible of growing systems. It exists in three versions, the RF236, the RF318 and the RF66. The only difference between these units is the quantity of plants which can be grown in them : 36 in the small, 18 in the medium; and 6 in the large pots.
Like the EcoGrower, the RainForest²® is sold ready-to-use, with a kit of Flora Series, a pH Test Indicator, 10 g of Dry pH Down, and detailed instructions.
- The RainForest²® allows you to root your cuttings, and grow your plants all the way to harvest, thus avoiding transplanting and the stress linked to this process.
- Thanks to the exclusive oxygenating and spraying capacity of its Vortex Sprayer, which lifts the nutrient solution and gently distributes it over the cutting's bases or root system, it creates such a healthy environment in the root zone that there is no need for the old domes found on traditional propagating systems.
PANDA Hydro
For beginners and small projectsSimple, efficient and elegant
The Panda Systems are our latest growing units. A little smaller than the Dutch Pot Systems, they allow you to grow from 8 to 40 plats, depending on the size of the plants you are growing.
In «Hydro» or in «Aero» versions, the Panda Systems are easy to assemble and user-friendly.
- They offer unique advantages:
- - They are self-contained, to prevent leaking.
- - Their rectangular shape (124 x 62 x 53 cm) makes them easy to use in any small area.
- - Its large reservoir (150 L), for a relatively small amount of plants, guarantees a good water supply and helps regulate the pH level.
Dutch Pot Hydro 1m2
The missing link: the Dutch Pot combines the unique performances of the AeroFlo with the simplicity of the WaterFarm.
Two models are available:
The Hydro version, with clay pellets, is great for beginners and professionals.During the hot days you can work with a Hydro DP and Grorox to protect the roots. And switch into faster gear with the Aero DP as soon as temperatures start to cool off.
Both versions exist in 2 sizes, 1 and 2 m2, and can grow from 12 to 60 plants (1 m2) or to 120 plants (2 m2).For some large plants, and to prevent a too quick roots growth which will invade your pots's drains , you must raise the conductivity of your nutrient solution. Depending on your plant, and when the root system is developed enough for a young adult plant, raise your EC to 2 or 2.5.
Each Dutch Pot comes with a set of Flora Series 1L and complete instructions.
- We continue to make custom orders, of course. Simply give us the characteristics of your project and we will make you an offer specifically adapted to your needs.
- For information on our commercial settings, please call your supplier or contact us directly. Our team of consultants will be happy to help you with technical advice and follow up.

Multi-Flow Flood & Drain System
Multi-Flow Flood and Drain Systems Product Details:
Multi-Flow Flood and Drain Systems are fully automated hydroponic systems that are incredibly effective. Multi-Flow Flood and Drain System take a lot of the manual work out of growing, all you need to do is keep your reservoir topped up with fresh nutrients and change your water on a weekly basis, the system takes care of everything else. The Multi-Flow Flod and Drain System works by using a brain bucket to automate your flood and drain cycle. The brain bucket has two float switches in it, when the timer is engaged it floods all the pots in the system automatically and the float switches prevent overflows and empty the system back to the reservoir afterwards.
